Sant Nirankari Public School, Govindpuri celebrates 70th Independence Day

Sant Nirankari Public School, Govindpuri celebrated the 70th Independence Day of India with much pride and pleasure. The ceremony was graced by the Chairman, Mr. Bhavesh Thukral; Manager, Mrs.Sunita Arora and the other LMC members. Also attending the ceremony was Mr.Vijay Kapoor, Chief Manager, Regional office and Mr. V.K.Madan, Chief Manager, Kalkaji Branch of Central Bank of India, as well as, Subhashji, health inspector of MCD at 10 in the morning.

The program started with the hosting of the flag, followed by the National Anthem and Avtar Bani. The students exhibited their talents through various patriotic songs, sung in chorus. The other students participated by shouting out slogans that expressed their patriotic fervor.

Harshita Kashyap of Class VIII received the Students of the Year award, while, Kripa Rani Jena of Class VII B bagged the sportsperson of the year ward in recognition of her gold medal at the District level in the Taekwondo Championships, Navjot Kaur of class VII B, Purnima of III B and Radhika of III A received plaques honoring their maximum contribution to the cause of Cancer through Global Cancer Association. Mrs. Prem Gandhi an eminent teacher of our school. Get special recognition for maximum contribution by her class.

The second half of the day was followed by various class activities mentioned as under:

* PS & Pre-Primary: The angels of PS II and pre-primary enjoyed a story telling session conducted by Ms. Payal, Professional Story Teller The invigorating session with props left the students mesmerized.

* Group Activity: Cut and Paste Work
Class I – II: National Flag, National Flower, National Bird and National Animal.

Class III – IV: Plantation Drive

 

Class V – VI: Card Making

Class VII – VIII: Poster making on “Preservation and symptoms of Dengue”.

In keeping with the Prime Minister’s proposal of “Azaadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani”, to reinstill the freedom of freedom struggle and national movement among the younger generation, the students were encouraged to express their patriotism through creative means. While the younger students were explained the significance of the National Flag and National symbols, classes V-VI made all efforts to creativity so that their cards can express a fellow feeling towards the Jawans, who sacrifice their lives at the border.

Overall, the programme was a success. It show cased the active participation of both teachers and Students who took a pledge to usherina better tomorrow.
