As part of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj’s Birth Anniversary, a cleanliness drive took place in Sant Nirankari Public School, Govindpuri, Delhi both inside and outside the school. The students of VII and VIII Standard along with their Principal, Ms. Neeraj Mahipal Chawla, twelve teachers and school staff went to Rajiv Gandhi Park, Kalkaji and Sadbhawana Park on Sat. 24th Feb. 2018. The drive started at 9:30 am and continued till 11: 00 am. Huge heaps of garbage was cleaned by everyone with brooms, and hands. Also, this drive was graced by the presence of Mr. Subhash Badhana, Councilor who praised the school for its humanitarian initiative. He gave a message of working for the betterment of one’s country to all the students and staff on the occasion of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj’s birth anniversary which is also, called Guru Puja Diwas. He said that “Cleanliness first has to start from our homes.” Thus, every year the Foundation celebrates Guru Puja Diwas by creating awareness among the masses regarding the importance of cleanliness, trees, unity and so on by organising various events like cleanliness drive, tree plantation, etc. based on the teachings of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.

Therefore, it is an effort to promote and motivate today’s youth for doing the selfless service towards our society through such campaigns. Hence, at the end of the cleanliness drive refreshments were given to everyone. Indeed, it was a unique as well as an enriching experience for all of us. We were truly blessed to have got an opportunity to do our bit for our Mother Nature.
